All you need to know about Astro Advice…

This month I thought I would take the opportunity to explain a little more about what I do and how the Astro advice works. Astro advice is not a horoscope in the traditional sense because I do not look to the planetary movements to create the reading. I have been practicing astrology for as long as tarot but I prefer to do an intuitive reading for each sign using a combination of divinatory techniques. 

To create the Astro Advice I spend a few minutes allowing several individuals that I know of each sign to pass through my mind – without focusing on any details. I try and think of at least 3-4 people and just let them pass through my thoughts. It is important not to dwell on any details in their lives or any feelings I may have about them. They may even be people that are no longer in my life or people I don’t know very well. I have had a long habit of asking people their birthdays and so have a large catalogue in my mind to choose from! I then ask ‘what does (Taurus) need to know?’ and then choose a tarot card, a crystal and a Kira stone. (I will explain what they are in a moment.)

I look at the three together and wait for a message to start coming through. I have noticed that when writing the message, it often becomes clearer and it also sometimes relates to the previous month’s reading. The nature of each sign is also considered. I do not, however, relate the meaning to any individual. I am usually unaware of the significance that the readings have for the people I know – including myself – until after they are all finished.

What is extraordinary is how accurate the readings seem to have been for the people who have given me feedback. I have discovered that people of a sign really are often experiencing a similar theme in their lives. I am not striving to predict fortunes but hopefully to bring clarity and self understanding to what ever process is being experienced.

I use the Glastonbury tarot deck. This deck is very positive and nice to work with. I have many decks but these are the ones I prefer to use when doing readings for people as they seem to speak to me the best. I also have a bag of crystals for which I received intuited meanings for last year. I am currently working with the Crystal Cards deck and learning their meanings. I hope to use this deck in my readings in the future – once their meanings have seeped into my psyche.   


Kiras are symbols. The symbols are painted on stones which are picked from a bowl. Kiras are a unique divinatory system which I channelled myself over several years, during the 90s. They work both individually and as a whole interconnected system. I aim to spend more time developing them and to finish writing the book that explains their meanings. Each Kira has a number but for the purpose of the Astro Advice a key word is used which summarises the meaning of the Kira chosen. 

So as you can see Astro Advice is not your average horoscope! My personal readings are not like many tarot readings either. I do not believe in fortune telling because I think that it can disempower people. When I was about 15 I had my palm read and I was told I would be married with two children by the time I was 25. Oh – and I would have a successful career. What a load of c**p! At the age of 36 I am still not married and nor do I have any children. Over the years my career has been erratic to say the least – that is if you can call what I do a ‘career’…

The point is I felt like an awful failure as I headed toward my 26th birthday. I even got engaged to a completely inappropriate guy – for about a month – because I felt so disheartened by the state of my life because it had not been fulfilled in the way in which I had been led to expect. Any spiritual guidance should empower people and help move them along their path. It should give them more control through awareness rather than tell them what is going to happen to them regardless of their personal choices. I don’t believe the future is set in stone.

The other thing which is different is the shamanic journey I do at the beginning of the reading to bring back information for the client. This journey takes me to the root of the situation that client faces. I ask ‘what does ……………. need to know?’ in a similar way as when I’m doing the Astro Advice. Sometimes I have asked a more specific question like ‘what does …………. need to know about such and such?’ This process, which came to me without me really planning it, is truly inspiring. I have only started using this shamanic process recently but it has proved to be immensely helpful and insightful to my clients – so much so that it even amazes me!
